Six ways of using ideas in a novel
Dear Henry, don't you think that Wilkie Collins is worth being, at least, mentioned ?
Not a fan!
I've only read The Evil Genius and I remember loving it!
After reading Hannah Crafts's reworking, I have even more praise for Dickens's universality.

I was crying in Costa Coffee a couple of weeks ago when Jo died.
I love that: "a world of semi-mythical people, who might almost be mistaken for the creatures splattered with mire at the start." I do love Dicken's talent for embodying ideas in his characters.
Bleak House is next on my list when I'm finished with Middlemarch!
