Children are engineers
Children are engineers. They make boats out of boxes and hats out of colanders and then they are pirates. They are also engineers of the imagination, jamming words and syllables together. It makes them laugh. It doesn't need explaining. It works with its own logic. When they are like this they don't worry about what ought to work or best practice or the rules. They make what they need and use it. They know that delivered is better than deliberated. If you are at home with children, watch them do this. Study how you could be more of an engineer.
