I’ve been reading quite a bit about the current “religion revival,” especially among Gen Z. The whole topic came to my attention because of a book my publisher is releasing soon. It’s interesting to see how relevant and widespread this subject is right now. I wasn’t aware of this book — I might have to check it out.

Not books, several articles — one from The Times — which sparked a bit of research and led me to this article in particular: https://www.biblesociety.org.uk/research/quiet-revival. And lastly, a book the publisher I work for is set to release this autumn that covers the topic. When it was first presented to us, we were all pretty skeptical, but I can now see there’s definitely something happening here.

Interesting to read in that article that young men outnumber young women as new church attenders.

Yeah, it’s a really interesting observation — I noticed that too. In fact, there seems to be an increasing overlap between certain religious circles and the whole manosphere crowd (you know, the Joe Rogan / Andrew Tate types), especially in the US. Both tend to push hyper-traditional gender roles and that whole “real masculinity” narrative. It’s one of the spaces where those toxic ideas are gaining followers, and it’s interesting (and a bit worrying) how some religious rhetoric is being used to legitimise them.

I am curious to read more. I hope you will write a full review but I may read the book either way.
