Queen Mary was a remarkable and interesting woman whose unique traits have been overlooked. Too much focus on her eccentricities and selfishness distracts from what is really interesting about her.
An interesting read, thank-you, it’s certainly goes some way to explaining, the traits of character in each of her four sons. Your essay has also made me want to read more on Queen Mary, and George V, whose limited interests did not seem to extend beyond stamp collecting. That can’t have been much fun for the Queen.
