A poem by Thomas Hardy
Thanks for sharing this moving poem. It feels like Hardy is channelling his own hero, Jude, from Jude the Obscure here.
Love it
He was just so good
My Grandmother once had a several year running feud with her first husband over a copy of Jules Verne that he reckoned she had had in the divorce. Always found it funny that his books were so good people held grudges over their copies of them! 😂
Thank you for this. Perfect.
:) isn’t it splendid
Struggling with the last two lines?
As little of earth as Christ was—I.e. beyond petty “earthy” concerns as Christ was.
Thank you!
