My late grandfather kept similar journals, full of factoids and critique. He was a music critic, violin teacher and seemed devoid of emotion. He could detect every nuance and appreciated skill and technique. My mother has done the same. She has literally thousands of pages of journals and wants to write an autobiography. I said to her, why don't you pick events from your journals and share how situations and events made you feel.

Yes I liked that. I suspect there are plenty of encrypted diaries out there...
