Can you explain stanza 1 of The Flower? … particularly the words “returns” and “demean.” I love this poem and it’s telling of life returning after grief and this being brought about by the “Lord of Power.”
I also thought it interesting that he ends with a warning about Pride.

demean==demeanour/appearance, and the return is the return of God's presence, i.e. which is like the return of flowers in spring
