Also, I disagree with the malaise London you are observing; my London is still as vibrant and full as ever, and for me at least accessible, cosmopolitan, quirky (Barbican Totoro, City of London festival take over, Covent Garden regular chaos; Hackney Empire Improv; finding fresh wasabi). But I’m guessing you can find malaise fairly easily too.
Maybe if - as always - you don’t have much money - but I think some things are faster; access to (better) food faster, access to theatre the same now (if you have money), same for arts (Tho this is recent eg Tate Modern the same now, restrictions are off), travel is actually better between bikes, scooters, Elizabeth line, ebikes coming (tho everyone complains on transport), variety is almost back to previous levels; random
