A thoughtful, honest and insightful article Henry. Thank you.

Unusual and insightful profile. I’ve heard some say she had elements of autistic cognitive thinking - which I think could be a great thing. Also, I disagree with the malaise London you are observing; my London is still as vibrant and full as ever, and for me at least accessible, cosmopolitan, quirky (Barbican Totoro, City of London festival take over, Covent Garden regular chaos; Hackney Empire Improv; finding fresh wasabi). But I’m guessing you can find malaise fairly easily too.

Agree about London. But at the margin lots of things getting slower.

Maybe if - as always - you don’t have much money - but I think some things are faster; access to (better) food faster, access to theatre the same now (if you have money), same for arts (Tho this is recent eg Tate Modern the same now, restrictions are off), travel is actually better between bikes, scooters, Elizabeth line, ebikes coming (tho everyone complains on transport), variety is almost back to previous levels; random

Meet-ups due to eventbrite are easier than 10 years ago; the things you note as slower yes but I think some things on the other side.

Thanks! I don’t feel like I know what happened and it’s vexing, to say the least. Someone will tell us in time, no doubt…

Thanks for writing this. It does make her sound deeply weird. Stupid, no. But a combination of baffling and haywire might as well be.

Yep I just think weird ought to be less of problem for people than it seems to be

The unspoken tactic is to PUP, Prevent Unintended Pregnancies. See "God Made Men Too", vol l of "Sex and the 21st Century: AR-W/(P-I) x ATroc = Q". And vol ll, "The Price Of Eggs Is Down" all on Amazon Kindle/Paperback, large font for easy reading and serious thinking on the new economy of climate change and lower birth rates. You might also appreciate vol lll, "Every War Is An UnCivil War" with a chapter on Putin's War that has thrown a monkey wrench into everybody's economy.
