What’s the best fiction you have read this year?

I asked this on Notes and there are many excellent answers (as I often say, you are all the best readership for a literary blog), but I know not all of you use Notes (very sensible) so tell us in the comments here, what are the best works of fiction you have read this year? I will be doing on my own post as usual in a few weeks’ time.
It's gotta be the Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann! I had to ration it out because I didn't want to leave that world.
I finally read John Williams's Stoner and thought it was beautiful. Also: Pale Fire, from which I am still recovering.
